Scrambling

Mountain scrambling is a great way to travel through phenomenally impressive terrain.  At a basic level it involves climbing short rocky steps, more advanced scrambling may involve the use of harnesses, ropes, helmets and some climbing techniques.  Snowdonia offers a lifetime of scrambling to suit all abilities.


Introduction to scrambling courses              (1:6 max)

For those who have no experience of scrambling.  The course will cover grade 1 scrambles for example the North Ridge of Tryfan, looking at the simple ways you can look after yourself on them whilst climbing them.

Intermediate scrambling courses                   (1:4 max)

For those with some experience of scrambling.  The course will cover grade 1 - 2 scrambles.  May involve the use of harnesses, helmets and ropes.  Could include an ascent of more exposed scramblers such as Crib Goch.

Advanced scrambling courses                         (1:2 max)

Looking at grade 3 scrambles.  If appropriate you will have the opportunity to lead some scrambles looking at the techniques required to protect you and your partner.  More complex rope work will be covered with elements of short roping touched upon.

Guided classic scrambling                                 (1:2 max)

The scrambling course will complete as many of the classic scrambles as time allows at whatever difficulty suits you.
